Chanel Perfume

Various perfumes stay in our memories as being great or even wonderful. However, they are eclipsed by the most famous perfume of modern times, the Chanel, which bears the number 5 on its label so we all know this perfume as being called Chanel No. 5.

There are a couple of stories regarding how Chanel perfume came into being. The certain thing is that it was created by Ernest Beaux and released at the premier of one of Chanel's fashion shows in 1921. The perfume was nothing like the usual perfumes sold that time, making it a hit.

The innovative ideas used to create it made this particular Chanel perfume to set the stage for many new ideas in the perfume industry. Synthetic perfume oils were used by Ernest Beaux in his creation, instead of the usual flower scents. He let Chanel chose the sample she wanted to present and as soon as it became famous, other perfumes were made based on the same idea.

Nowadays, there are some other types of Chanel perfume that we can see and try, but N0. 5 is still one of the most famous perfumes. They all have followed the original Chanel trend and bear a simple number.

Moreover, other famous Chanel perfumes were released on the market by Ernest Beaux, this including Chanel 22 in 1922, Gardenia and Cuir de Russie in 1925 and Bois des Isles in 1926. These fragrances were reintroduced later as boutique exclusives in 1986,

Besides these Chanel perfumes, we can find some new brands on the market. A tribute to Chanel was released in 1984, called Coco, in the honor of Coco Chanel, just to give an example. In 1996 Allure was released.

A beautiful celebrity is always involved in releasing a Chanel perfume. The first one, who helped make Chanel perfume famous was Marilyn Monroe. In an interview with a journalist she stated that the only thing she wore to bed was Chanel No. 5.

During 2004, Nicole Kidman was the new image for Chanel perfumes.

As everybody knows her for her talent, the sole idea that she wears this brand of perfume makes us want to try Chanel perfume next time we want to buy one. By changing well known celebrities and personalities, Chanel perfume keeps constant in our minds.

Due to all this, Chanel became an iconic perfume. Even a small sample of Chanel perfume makes us think we buy a piece of history, as no other fragrance has changed the way we see perfumes as this one has.
